Hello, I'm building a flat top/back mandolin. The back pieces I ordered
are 6" by 18" and 4/16" thick maple. They arrived at my house slightly
warped, and I was wondering what the best method of de-warping them
is. My first Idea was to soak them in water and clamp them between two
boards, but I'm not sure if this would damage the wood or not. If you
have any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much
Best regards

When you say "warped", do you mean "cupped", or are they indeed warped
end-to-end?

If they are cupped (side-to-side), lay the concave side down on a wet towel
until it comes back to flat...

Then lean it against a wall or hang it in the air to dry...

It should remain flat...

I second the concrete floor. It has to be bare.
